FAQs

1. How do I get to La Ventana ?

There are two main ways to get to La Ventana: from La Paz or from Los Cabos. You’ll need to fly into one of these two airports:

  • La Paz International Airport (LAP) is 45 min away. There are accessible private cars for hire, at around 35USD.

  • San José Del Cabo, airport (SJD) is 2 hours away. There are shared shuttles to La Ventana twice a day: 2PM and 4PM (around 50USD), as well as private cars for hire (around 120USD).

We can happily help you coordinate and book your airport transfer to La Ventana!

2. How does the booking and payment work ?

After getting in touch with us, when you’re ready to reserve your spot, you’ll have to pay a deposit to reserve your spot.

The deposit is 500usd. It is non-refundable.

Then the rest of the payment will be due 60 days before the start of the camp.

We receive payments through Wise, a minimal-hassle, verified currency transfer platform and bank by which we can receive transfers from any bank (like an international Venmo!). With the most accessible transfer fees and very good currency exchange rates.

3. What's included ?

Pretty much everything you need to have a great time!

Premium accommodation, daily kite lessons/coaching (depending on what you chose, and weather permitting!), morning yoga ,access to all the house’s amenities (pool, hot tub, BBQ, standup paddle boards)!

Delicious food prepared daily by a local chef, and a gourmet closing dinner experience at our favorite spot in town!

Check out all that’s included here

4. What does a typical day at the camp look like ?

See section “A Day At The Camp”

5. What happens if there is no wind ?

As on any kite spot, perfect wind is no guarantee. If there are days without good enough wind to take kite lessons or coaching, we will enjoy the other spectacular and fun activities La Ventana has to offer: snorkeling in the bay, hiking and/or mountain biking in the desert, getting a massage…

No wind day activities are in replacement of daily kite sessions and are on us.

6. Do I need previous kite experience to join the camp ?

No! Our private lesson modality is perfect for complete beginners! We provide all the gear you need and our instructors will tailor the lessons to each student level.

7. When is the wind season in La Ventana ?

November to April is our high season, with the most reliable and stable winds!

8. Is all the gear included in the kite lessons ?

Yes, the kite lessons modality includes all the gear you need: wetsuit, safety gear, harness, kite, bar, board, and waterproof communication device.

9. Do I need a wetsuit ?

The wind and water can get quite chilly during the winter. You will need a wetsuit.

If you’re a beginner booking the private lesson modality we can provide the wetsuit for you! However, we always recommend to bring your own mainly for hygiene reason but also to guarantee a proper fit.

If you’re an intermediate/advanced rider, you should bring your own. If you don’t have one, don’t worry, a rental can be arranged!

Recommended level of thickness: 3/2 or 4/3.

10. Can I come with a non kiter ?

Of course!

Non-kiter packages include accommodation, food, and morning yoga sessions, but it doesn't include extra activities on no-wind days.

Get in touch with us to discuss the specifics!

11. Can I come to the camp for a shorter period ?

You can choose to arrive later and/or leave before the camp ends, but we can’t change our pricing! We don’t encourage this, as you’ll miss out on included activities and we want you to make the best of your time with us and the rest of the group!

Please let us know if you’re considering this so we can plan accordingly.
